Dhruv Kapoor Takes Us Down The Rabbit Hole

A large inflatable rabbit with long ears and soft features sits at the centre of the runway, welcoming guests of Dhruv Kapoor’s Spring/Summer 2025 Fashion Show. Its presence, hard to ignore, is not merely a prop but a nod to childhood, to the nostalgia of past summers. With his co-ed fashion show, the designer tells a story of growth, turning clothes into canvases on which he shapes memories and desires, embracing the fluidity of space and time.

The Fashion Show, held on via Tortona 27, evoked the image of a summer vacation in which, out of necessity and delight, the family’s wardrobe has been mixed up: there are classic dad sneakers, oversized garments inherited from siblings, soft ’90s fits, flared jeans, summer jorts, and tailored jackets made from cotton sheets. Dhruv Kapoor unveils the narrative of the collection through the tiniest of details: the bunny, drawn or hand-embroidered, is a recurring figure used to evoke fairy tales; similarly, prints of old newspapers and floral doodles contribute to the nostalgic effect. Amid hyper-bright tones and more muted neutrals, traditional Indian embroidery and decorations, Dhruv Kapoor’s journey unfolds: from youthful rebellion to adulthood. For the occasion, the front row hosted celebrities like Kelly Rutherford, James Blake, Jameela Jamil, Bryan Boy, Webb Papi and many others.
