Desigual and Maitrepierre, a Winning Combo
Spanish brand Desigual never ceases to surprise us and now offers a second successful and 100% sustainable collaboration with Alphonse Maitrepierre. Inviting the designer’s dreamy mood board into Desigual’s historic DNA seemed fitting, as Maitrepierre’s digital and recycled tailoring perfectly integrates Desigual’s colourful aesthetic, while bringing the deconstructed patterns and clean cuts that have made Maitrepierre so successful in the past few years. This new collaboration, called NEW HORIZON, focuses on the crucial importance of sustainability. The concept of jugaad, a Hindu word meaning innovative repair, is very dear to Alphonse Maitrepierre’s vision and working method. Since he started working, he has been using upcycled fabrics, twisting them with highly original prints that are the outcome of his unique creativity. To celebrate the launch of the collection, Desigual has invited numerous guests, including journalists, stylists, fashion editors and influencers like Claire Laffut, Marie-Victoire Tiangue, Estelle Chemouny, Maria Bernad, Selma Kacisebbagh, Gala Gonzalez and Laura Tønder.
