Davide Balula transforms the Centre Pompidou into a giant clock

Centre Pompidou has never been afraid to experiment. For the second edition of “You x Art x Centre Pompidou” (YACP in short), Beaubourg gave Davide Balula a carte blanche. The result is stunning: the artist installed his “Horloge mécanique pour 60 musicien(nes)” (“Mechanical clock for 60 musicians”) in the Museum’s contemporary collections. From room to room, the musicians of the Lamoureux Orchestra give their interpretation of watch hand movement. Guests are invited to walk through this giant clock and to listen to the passing of time. After this sound performance, the friends of the Centre Pompidou had transformed the Forum into a digital dance floor with an installation by the Visual System collective. The installations and programmation had been designed by We Love Art agency. Until early morning, artists such as Pedro Winter, TEZ, Safia Bahmed Schwartz, Sons of Raphael and Miley Serious all participated in keeping the night going.
