“David Hockney 25”, A Groundbreaking Exhibition at The Fondation Louis Vuitton

Fondation Louis Vuitton, Paris

We are talking about one absolute master. From April 9th to August 31st, the Fondation Louis Vuitton has invited David Hockney to imbue the entirety of its exhibition spaces to create an unprecedented exhibition of one of the most influential artists of the 20th and 21st centuries. This exceptional selection brings together loans from international, institutional and private collections,  as well as pieces from the artist’s personal studio and Foundation. “David Hockney 25” features over 400 works from 1955 to 2025, produced in a wide variety of techniques—oil and acrylic paintings, ink, pencil and charcoal drawings, as well as digital works (photographic drawings, computer drawings, iPhone and iPad drawings) and video installations. The artist has been fully involved in the curation of the exhibition, which is set to be one of the most important of the year. Together with his partner and studio manager Jean-Pierre Gonçalves de Lima, Hockney has chosen to focus particularly on the past 25 years whilst also including the iconic early works, offering visitors a rare insight into his creative universe, spanning seven decades.

At the exhibition opening, we crossed paths with Jean-Paul Claverie, Laurent Le Bon, Kamel Mennour, Daniel Lismore, Ellen von Unwerth, Léna Mafhouf, Daniel Templon…
