The Omega Speedmaster watch is famous for being the only watch worn on the Moon and approved for all NASA flights. For the release of the film “First Man”, the Swiss watchmaker is once again celebrating its iconic watch, worn by Ryan Gosling in the role of Neil Armstrong in the film. At the Elysées-Biarritz, Omega invited a high-standard guest list to a private screening of Damien Chazelle’s film. Étoile dancers Juliette Gernez and Hugo Marchand, astronaut Michel Tognini, actresses Julia Piaton and Emma de Caunes, Louis-Marie de Castelbajac and Bénabar attended the photocall alongside a life-sized spacesuit in the cinema’s reception hall, decorated with historical photographs retracing the Apollo 11 mission. To the sound of Sinatra’s “Fly Me to the Moon”, guests were able to (re)discover the history of the historical watch, before taking their seats in the Elysées-Biarritz to discover a preview of the biopic of the first man to have walked on the Moon, the Omega Speedmaster on his wrist.
