Maison Margiela x Gentle Monster: Welcome to the Cybercore World
Symbiotic alien forms are taking over the spaces of 10 Corso Como, to present the third and biggest collaboration between French label Maison Margiela and Korean eyewear brand Gentle Monster. The cybercore soul of the collection consists of 20 new eyewear models, 8 sunglasses and 12 optical frames, which, through the gaze of Jordan Hemingway, narrate the sense of alienation and attraction between the human and cyborg worlds.
The materials used for the glasses range from metallic elements to nylon with Maison Margiela’s iconic white pattern. The MM220 series features a metal frame with oval lenses and flexible cable temples in a functional reinterpretation of traditional design. The models are available in metallic finishes ranging from silver to green, ivory, red, and tortoise.
The setting of the event, with transparent and velvety materials, was inspired somewhere between human and cybercore too and will reprise in seven special pop-up spaces in seven cities around the world to launch their new work at the edge of the future.
