CRAVAN, The House of Cocktails and Culture, Blows Its First Candle in Saint-Germain-des-Prés
Have you heard about Arthur Cravan? Don’t even bother looking him up on Instagram. This Anglo-Swiss poet with the body of a film star mysteriously disappeared at the end of WWI. Figurehead of Dadaism, he borrowed his pen name from the town where his former fiancée was born, “Cravan”. This cultural and original storytelling is a perfect match to the establishment, located in the middle of the Saint-Germain-des-Prés neighbourhood, on the corner of Rue du Dragon and Boulevard St Germain.
Designed in collaboration with Moet Hennessy, this bar spreads over four floors, becoming the XXL brother of Cravan’s address in the 16th arrondissement, famous for its cocktails, its food and its radical approach.
A surrealist interior by Belgian architect and designer Ramy Fischler, a Rizzoli New York bookshop, a brand-new cocktail and gift shop, and an exceptional menu, all under Franck Audoux’s artistic direction: here are the ingredients of a cocktail with a flavour without equal, which celebrated its first yesterday evening.
Among the guests were Amélie Nothomb, Thomas Roussel, Emeric Tchatchoua, Franck Audoux, Zoé Duchesne, Miren Arzalluz, Ramy Fischer, Samuel Boutruche, James Edward Henry, Joachim Roncin and David Bellion.
