Tribute to CLAIRE FONTAINE by Mennour and Galerie Neu in Venice
The 60th Venice Biennale is titled “Stranieri Ovunque – Foreigners Everywhere”, based on a series of masterpieces by Claire Fontaine, a feminist conceptual artist collective founded by Fulvia Carnevale and James Thornhill in Paris in 2004. Mennour and Galerie Neu celebrated Claire Fontaine’s recent activities with a festive evening at the Palazzo Tiepolo, illuminated by a blue neon sign “Étrangers partout” from the series displayed at various points of the Biennale at the Arsenal and the Giardini. As “A User’s Manual to Claire Fontaine” by Anita Chari has just been released in bookstores, Claire Fontaine’s first exhibition at Mennour, “Reproductions,” is being shown in Paris until June 1st. This presents numerous opportunities to bring together personalities like Stéphanie Hussonnois, Mustapha Bouhayati, India Mahdavi, Alexia Fabre, François Quintin, Antonia Scintilla, among many others.
