Christie’s celebrates Annie & Jean Dalsace and the Maison de Verre collections
Christie’s opened two new major exhibitions right before FIAC in Paris. The first show featured the collections of Annie & Jean Dalsace, a couple of great art and design lovers, known for having commissioned Pierre Chareau to build the famous Maison de Verre in 1928. For this exceptional auction, Christie’s Paris has assembled the couple’s collections, mainly avant-garde furniture by Pierre Chareau as well as a selection of master paintings staged by architect Franklin Azzi. Simultaneously with this first sale, which took place on October 7, Christie’s Paris presented the exhibition ‘L’Art à fleur de peau, parcours d’une collectionneuse’, bringing together some of the greatest international figures of the 20th century. Among the artists presented: Fernando Botero, Chu Teh-Chun, Friedensreich Hundertwasser, Barbara Kruger, Manolo Valdés or Louise Nevelson. The auction will take place on October 13 at Christie’s Paris.
