Christie’s presents François Azambourg’s experiments
From February 24th to March 4th, Christie’s presented François Azambourg’s glass experiments. The French designer has been working for more than thirteen years in partnership with the Centre International d’art verrier (CIAV) in Meisenthal, with whom he has been conducting experiments that challenge the conventions of the glassmaking tradition. “Experimentations”, the exhibition-sale under the auspices of The Art Design Lab, presents the objects obtained by Azambourg in his approach to renewing materials, tools and techniques: the DOUGLAS vase (iconic of the collections published by the CIAV), the BRINDILLES vase and the INTOUCHABLE. Guests at the opening of the exhibition were treated to a preview of three ranges of exceptional objects accompanied by drawings, sketches and preparatory work.
