The Centre Pompidou and Bourse de Commerce – Pinault Collection present Charles Ray
From February 16, the Centre Pompidou is honoring the work of Charles Ray. The American artist, a major figure in contemporary sculpture, is presenting his first exhibition for a French public institution. Through his large-scale sculptures, the artist questions the gaze and the nature of sculpture itself. At the same time, the Bourse de Commerce – Pinault Collection is also dedicated an exhibition to the artist born in Chicago in 1953. Designed in close collaboration with the Centre Pompidou, the exhibition complements the one presented at Beaubourg. The two exhibitions are accompanied by a joint publication edited by Jean-Pierre Criqui and Caroline Bourgeois.
