“Mirages” at Chambre Noir Explores the Infinite Potential of AI in Art
“Mirages” is the first exhibition devoted to AI hosted by Chambre Noir, the new space founded by Pavillon Noir in the dynamic district of Saint-Ouen. The exhibition project, created in collaboration with Braw Haus (a leading force in digital art founded in 2018 by Justine Vilgrain and Patricia Gloum), presents the works of 12 artists from October 18th to 31st. These artists have made AI their ideal medium to give free rein to their visionary creativity, including Samy la Crapule, Sharp Delusion, A.I.s.a.m, and Le Moon. The project aims to introduce the general public to the infinite (and still relatively unknown) possibilities offered by the intersection of art and digital technology.
Studio, artist residency, showroom, and art gallery: Chambre Noir aims to become a new, dynamic, and innovative cultural hub on the outskirts of Paris. And the “Mirages” exhibition, inaugurated the other evening, fits perfectly into this vision.
Visitors moved through this hybrid space to admire installations featuring screens, light projections, and animations, such as the Connected Piano by artist Kaoru Tanaka, whose visuals were projected throughout the space in sync with the piano’s notes. Also on display were the intersections of fashion, pop art, and surrealism by Sharp Delusion. The final effect was an immersive experience that revealed the multifaceted worlds proposed by the 12 artists, all engaged in exploring the boundary between reality and dreams, analogue and digital, black and white.
At the opening, we encountered many prominent figures from the art and culture scene, including Justine Vilgrain, AI.S.A.M, Sharp Delusion and many others.
