Casablanca Celebrates an Irrepressible Will to Live
Charaf Tajer opened his fashion show with a speech with political overtones. Returning from a trip to Syria, the founder of Casablanca reported to have been struck by the irrepressible will to continue believing in hope of a particular part of the population, the youth. A youth that, in spite of the dramatic circumstances surrounding it, continues to want to dance, have fun and, above all, live. Always in the spirit of the 70s, the collection is colourful and flamboyant, with multiple references to traditional clothing and uniforms. Ultimately, it conveys a haunting nostalgia for a global, prosperous, liberated and joyful pan-Arabic landscape that will never leave him.
