Catherine Deneuve and Monica Bellucci join Cartier for a private dinner at Musée des Arts Décoratifs

From October 21, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs presents ‘Cartier et les arts de l’Islam. Aux sources de la modernité’ with the support of Cartier. This major exhibition brings together more than 500 pieces of jewelry, objects and masterpieces of Islamic art and reveals in a chronological and thematic installation the influence of Islamic arts on the production of jewelry by the House of Cartier. The story began in the early 20th century with Louis and Jacques Cartier when Paris had become the epicenter for the Islamic art trade. In 1903, an exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs undoubtedly played a major role in Louis Cartier’s nascent passion for Islamic art. More than a century later, the exhibition presented in the same museum offers visitors the opportunity to delve into the origins of this passion through the Parisian cultural context of the early 20th century, and then explore the diversity of Cartier’s repertoire. A few days before the official opening, Cartier invited their close friends to a private dinner at the museum. The dinner was orchestrated by the French chef Yannick Alléno in the presence of Catherine Deneuve, Monica Bellucci, Golshifteh Farahani and Amira Casar.
