Carol Bove Delves Deep into Geneva’s History with “La Genevoise”

Seizing the artistic effervescence that runs in the city during the 13th edition of Art Genève, the Musée d’Art et Histoire is presenting an original carte blanche exhibition, “La Genevoise”. The exhibition results from two months of close collaboration between artist Carol Bove and the institution’s specialists, who took inspiration from the MAH collection to weave a new narrative on the history of the Swiss city. Working from a selection of objects from the Geneva region – ranging from ancient artefacts to masterpieces and everyday objects – the New York-based artist uses 3D printing to create replicas. Exhibited alongside the originals, they establish a dialogue spanning 15,000 years of history.

To celebrate the opening of the exhibition on Wednesday evening, the Musée d’art et d’histoire hosted a gala dinner with the artist. We met exhibition curator Marc-Olivier Wahler, Kamel Mennour, Charles Carmignac, Wim Delvoye…
