Bluemarble SS26: A Different Kind of Hiking Style
Although it was held in the very heart of Paris, Bluemarble’s Fashion Show had much more of a mountain vibe than a metropolis feel. Drawing inspiration from his teenage years in Toulon, where he often hiked Mont Faron, Anthony Alvarez has created a collection for those in search of freedom and escape. Fearless, ready to venture off the beaten track, and ready to tread the foliage and bark covering the catwalk, the models made their entrance to present a mountain-style collection. Hoodies, oversizes and ripped denim, sprinkled with glitter and a bright colour palette, make up a collection that is the antithesis of classic citywear, which suddenly seems unnecessarily demure and a tad pretentious. You can almost hear the designer saying “stop, get off your phone and go and have some fun outside”, and he’s clearly making us reconsider including hiking in our holiday plans.
In the front row, we spotted Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, closely following her grandson’s runway appearance, alongside 2Chainz, Davido, Angie Beyince, CKay, Diamant Blazi, and many others.
