Berluti Celebrates 130 Years of Remarkable Elegance at the Simone and Cino Del Duca Foundation

Fondation Del Ducca, Paris

Back in 1895, Alessandro Berluti shook up the codes of masculine elegance. A trained cabinetmaker, the young man also learned leather trades in Paris, a combination of precious skills that allowed him to invent the very first lace-up shoe for men. 130 years later, the Maison is bringing this historic line back into the spotlight with a new version: the Mont Thabor, available in new shades of black. The Forestière, the emblematic hybrid jacket designed in 1947 for Le Corbusier, is also making a comeback. Available in an original range of colours and materials, this versatile workwear jacket can easily be worn both at the office or at an exhibition. Last but not least, on the third floor, the Maison is presenting the behind-the-scenes production process of its latest bag, Périple, with its flexible leather and intricate design. Berluti can boast of dressing men from head to toe, with its greatest strength being its outstanding mastery of leatherwork.

This discreet yet majestic foundation, located in the foothills of the Parc Monceau, is the brainchild of a woman of character, Simone Del Duca. She created the Simone and Cino Del Duca Foundation in 1975 as a tribute to her husband, a patron of the arts and a major newspaper publisher. Located at the Institut de France since 2005, it aims to promote the arts, literature and science in France and abroad. For two seasons now, it has been an ambassador for the remarkable elegance of which Berluti is the proud symbol.

In the midst of Paris Fashion Week, at the presentation cocktail party, we met Victor Belmondo, Lambert Wilson, Lee Junho, Vincent Elbaz, Alex Lutz, Ahmad Kontar, Cyril Benzaquen, Matthieu Forget and Victoria Dauberville.
