Benihana Paris: the Ultimate Fusion of Cuisine, Culture and Entertainment
After New York and London, the legendary Japanese fusion restaurant Benihana is settling in the French capital. Founded in 1964 by Rocky Aoki – father of the famous DJ Steve Aoki and supermodel Devon -, the restaurant has become a reference in Teppanyaki, the Japanese art of flambéed, and sublimated it into a real “Show” dinner.
To celebrate the inauguration of its new Paris flagship, Benihana Paris has imagined an amazing experience, combining gastronomy, artistic performances and a bold scenography. An immersive experience, where fire meets water, and where tradition and modernity intertwine…
The program included a mesmerizing projection illuminating the restaurant’s façade, an electrifying performance of taiko, the traditional Japanese drums, an electric DJ set by Asabella Xia D, and a tea ceremony revisited by a futuristic geisha straight out of Blade Runner, blending pyrotechnics and grace.
The menu was a unique blend of meat and seafood, featuring the sushi creations of talented chef David Coulomb, who trained with Yannick Alléno. To accompany these delights, signature cocktails with evocative names such as Geisha’s Kiss or Harajuku presented a symphony of flavors, mixing audacity and refinement.
The venue itself embodies the perfect marriage between the minimalist serenity of Japanese wabi-sabi style and resolutely Parisian sophistication. Conviviality, elegance and creativity came together to make Benihana Paris this winter’s new “hotspot”.
On Thursday, December 12th, the inauguration brought together many celebrities, including double Olympic medallist Romane Dicko, Paris Saint-Germain players Achraf Hakimi and Arnau Tenas, actors Michaël Cohen and Frédérique Bel, the Kretz brothers, French Netflix stars, and models Willy Cartier and Marilou Leconte.
Benihana Paris is much more than a restaurant: it’s an invitation to dream and discover, a place where gastronomy becomes a living art.
