The Beaux Arts Institute and “X-Tra Muros” celebrate street art

Collectors and art enthusiasts gathered on October 9th in the premises of Onepoint to attend the opening of “X-Tra Muros:Quand l’art démultiplie la ville”. In collaboration with the auction house Artcurial, the exhibition celebrates street art and marks the launch of the Beaux Arts Institute, the new service for conferences, training and professional coaching of the Beaux Arts & Cie group. The exhibition brought together works by renowned artists such as Banksy, JR and Shepard Fairey for a presentation and thought on urban art. This globalized artistic movement raises questions about its institutionalization or its place within the art market. Jacques Leroux, Director of Contents at the Beaux Arts Institute, led a round table discussion on these themes. Personalities from different backgrounds, such as actresses Leslie Medina and Eden Ducourant, essayist Caroline Fourest and activist Loubna Méliane, came to attend the debate, which was moderated by leading figures from the art world, such as historian Cyrille Gouyette and artist and teacher-researcher Samuel Bianchini.
