Beaugrenelle showcases Miguel Chevalier in orbit

This September, the Beaugrenelle department store will host a monumental installation by French artist Miguel Chevalier (previous artistic interventions have been created by Martin Parr and Alexis Tricoire). “Orbites 2019” spans a 14-meter-high mobile composed of 7,000 LEDs, creating “infinite” effects of light from its suspension from the building’s glass roof. The resulting work is in perpetual motion and in constant transformation. Under the mobile, shoppers can sit at the “conviviality table,” an interactive work that can deconstruct different luminous paintings through touch. The mobile is on view until November 7th.
