Astier de Villatte Unveils a Poetic New Collection

A Jean Nicot, Paris

Founded in 1996 by Benoît Astier de Villatte and Ivan Pericoli, Astier de Villatte quickly made a name for itself through the quality and diversity of its artistic endeavours. As a perfume maker, ceramics workshop and publishing house, the brand now unveils a range of unique pieces in each of these categories.

The Sao Tomé incense joins the brand’s twenty-two other incense blends, all made in Japan on Awaji Island. The new olfactory destination, with its hints of dark chocolate tinged with bitterness and slightly woody and musky notes, was developed by perfumer Nicolas Bonneville. Accompanying this new incense is a series of animal-themed incense burners, from frogs to enigmatic cats, elegant penguins, squirrels and many more.

Astier de Villatte also unveils other ceramic pieces: butter dishes and a frog cup made with Serena Carone, as well as a Swan box made in collaboration with Setsuko Klossowska de Rola. The collection also features a six-piece Istanbul set with an oriental feel, a mug decorated with pearls, a soap dish bearing the image of Venus, and a Medici vase.

Finally, a series of unique notepads, produced in the company’s typography print shop in L’Haÿ-les-Roses, round off this collection. Inspired by Wes Anderson’s filmography, each letterhead is stamped with the name of one of the American director’s films.

To celebrate the launch of this beautiful, original and unique collection, Benoît Astier de Villatte and Ivan Pericoli gathered friends and acquaintances at the Café A Jean Nicot, where we met Lou Doillon, Eva Jospin, Setsuko Klossowska de Rola, Jean-Sébastien Roques and Alice Barbier.
