Asia Now Paris Art Fair Celebrates a Decade of Growing Success at the Monnaie de Paris

Asia NOW, the leading art fair dedicated to contemporary art from Asia and its diaspora, celebrates its tenth edition at the Monnaie de Paris during Paris Art Week, from October 17th to 20th. For this anniversary year, Asia NOW showcases a selection of 71 international galleries, featuring artists from 28 Asian countries and its diaspora. An ambitious public program organized by guest curators presents in situ installations, a performance programme, and a platform for discussions.

This year’s guest curators, Alexander Burenkov and Radicants – an international curatorial cooperative founded by Nicolas Bourriaud – have transformed the Monnaie into a vibrant and immersive ceremony focused on performative arts with a programme featuring video, dance, music, oral traditions, and rituals. The exhibition blends the sacred and the profane, from culinary rituals to the communal exuberance of festivals, across the entire venue. The Asia NOW curatorial platform is sponsored by Sisley, official partner of the fair alongside Piaget.

To celebrate its 10th anniversary, Asia NOW has commissioned two in situ installations: Britto Arts Trust’s পাকঘর Pakghor – The Social Kitchen, sponsored by Piaget, and “L’Eau dans une main et le Feu dans l’autre” by Sumayya Vally, curated by Kathy Alliou in partnership with the MACS MTO (Sufi Art and Culture Museum).

Some of the attendees at the preview and opening, held on October 16th and 17th, included Asia NOW director Alexandra Fain, but also Nicolas Bourriaud, Marcos Kueh, Sheikha Nawar Al Qasimi, Christine d’Ornano, Thaddaeus Ropac, Arnaud Morand, and Fabrice Bousteau.
