Arte Fiera, Bologna Rediscovers Contemporary

Arte Fiera Bologna celebrates its 50th anniversary and marks the occasion with a special edition directed by Simone Menegoi and Enea Righi. This year, the event features nearly two hundred exhibitors, all divided into four sections. The Main section presents works balancing between historicized art and contemporary art, while significant space is also dedicated to the areas of Photography and Moving Images, 21st Century Painting, and Multiples. Alongside these sections, there is a packed schedule of events, from talks to awards (eleven in total this year) to special projects. Among these, the performance by Peruvian artist Daniela Ortiz in collaboration with Fondazione Furla shines on its own; Opus Novum, which this year involved Alberto Garutti and Luisa Lambri; the five projects reinterpreting the work of the great painter Giorgio Morandi on the 60th anniversary of his passing; and the highly anticipated (and very mysterious) Mutina for Art project signed by Maurizio Cattelan and titled “Because”. Many figures from the art world were eager not to miss the fair’s opening, which, as tradition dictates, took place in the elegant pavilions 25 and 26 at the BolognaFiere exhibition center. Among the guests navigating through the various stands were Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Sarah Cosulich, Lorenzo Balbi, Bruna Roccasalva, Davide Ferri, Gianni Dessì, Agostino Iacurci, Greta Ferro and many others.
