Artcurial spotlights the Joseph Altounian Collection
Artcurial’s newest exhibition and auction features the collection of antiquarian Joseph Altounian. (He was also, incidentally, a particularly close friend of Pablo Picasso, Guillaume Apollinaire and Amedeo Modigliani!) Presented at the Hôtel Marcel Dassault, the exhibition is an immersive view of the antiquarian’s great collection, presenting some 400 pieces: sculptures, furniture and art objects that reveal a rich history spanning from ancient Egyptian to modern art. In tandem, Artcurial is presenting a preview of select works for the upcoming sales season, including paintings, antique furniture, design pieces and Contemporary art. The Joseph Altounian auction will take place on September 17th and 18th.
