Art Paris Takes Over the Grand Palais Éphémère for its 26th Edition
Art Paris 2024, a world-class cosmopolitan event, will be held at the Grand Palais Ephémère from April 4th to 7th. The Art Fair will feature 136 modern and contemporary art galleries, exhibiting works by 900 artists from 25 countries, offering an extensive selection with a strong international presence.
The themes “Fragile Utopias. A Focus on the French Scene” and “Art & Craft”, led by guest curators Éric de Chassey and Nicolas Trembley, will be given pride of place in this edition. The former, entrusted to Éric Chassey, highlights the work of French artists, one of whom will be the recipient of the BNP Paribas Private Bank Prize. The second theme is in the hands of Nicolas Trembley and explores the world of crafts, a movement born in 19th-century Britain in reaction to the Industrial Revolution.
Emerging figures are also spotlighted in the sector “Promises”, which features nine new Parisian and international galleries, each showcasing three of their artists. Last but not least, the Art Fair celebrates the centenary of the birth of Surrealism, showcasing works from key figures like René Magritte, Joan Miro and André Breton.
During the opening evening, we had the pleasure of meeting Guillaume Piens, Chief curator of the Art Fair, alongside Daniel Templon, Emmanuel Perrotin, Valentine Lecêtre, Julien Lecêtre, Simon Buret, Chris Dercon, and Gérard Garouste, to name but a few.
