The coveted ANDAM Grand Prize was awarded last night after months of speculation within the fashion intelligentzia. Tergiversations also among the talented scouts of the big ready-to-wear houses who are closely watching for the next nuggets of the international fashion scene. Happy winner of the grand prize, the French Alexandre Mattiussi aka AMI jumps on a first-rate media springboard, and joins the ranks of the prestigious list of winners formed by Anthony Vaccarello, Felipe Oliveira Baptista, Giles Deacon and Martin Margiela. Winner of the Prize for the first collections, Christine Phung received a substantial grant of 75,000 euros, succeeding the trio of Pièce d’Anarchive and the designer Yiqing Yin (in 2011).
