Alphonse Maitrepierre Takes Over the Maison des Métallos to Present “The Time To Listen”

Alphonse Maitrepierre has undergone a sharp turn towards prêt-à-porter. While the French designer had accustomed us to a hybrid upcycled couture epitomized by sculptural constructions, it seems like this season he has ventured into new territory. Displaying a somewhat more mature vision, the collection featured refined and elegant silhouettes. However, we still find dashes of the designer’s unique “extravagance” here and there, easy to spot for those familiar with his work: sculptural jewellery, trousers with floral prints (a recurrent theme for Maitrepierre), matching shoes and the signature handle bag derived in new colours, which included an acidic duck blue. In a nutshell, this collection, inspired by nature, once again demonstrates the talent and sensitivity of the young designer.
