agnès b. inaugurates La Fab. art center

Stylist, collector, patron. Since the creation of her brand in 1975, agnès b. has worn (and continues to wear) many hats. While her ready-to-wear collections remain an essential part of le French chic, the designer has also made a name for herself since the 1980s with her commitment to contemporary art, notably through her historical gallery founded in 1984: the Galerie du Jour. In February 2020, agnès b. inaugurated a brand new project in a building in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, consisting of social housing, to bring together under the same roof her actions in favor of artistic creation, solidarity and the environment – which she has personally supported for many years. With La Fab, agnès b. unveils a 1400 square-meter space (800 of which is dedicated to exhibitions) in this building designed by the architect Augustin Rosentiehl. In addition to thematic exhibitions drawn from its collection of more than five thousand works, La Fab. will also host a “gallery of the day” and “bookshop of the day” and will bring together the solidarity actions carried out through the agnès b. endowment fund. While admission will be free from February 4th to 8th, 2020, agnès b. invited her family and friends to discover the space as well as the first exhibition, “la boldiesse”, during a grand opening evening. Guests included: Diane Rouxel, Henry Hopper, Jean-Michel Othoniel, Isabelle Huppert, JAIN, Hugo Marchand and Artus de Lavilléon.
