37.2 Editions Unveils Inès Dieleman’s New Book at the Librairie 7L
Following her first book Pavot, photographer Inès Dieleman just published another monograph, Polaroids with 37.2 editions. This opus confirms her unique visual signature, combining botanical study, scientific rigor, and sensual imagery. Renowned for her work in the luxury industry, Dieleman, a former art director and graduate of the Académie Charpentier, splits her time between Paris and Mount Etna, exploring the world through her macroscopic lens for the past fourteen years. Her first book Pavot drew attention by combining close-up floral images with an evocative sensuality reminiscent of Courbet and the vulnerability of living things. Polaroids further explores this theme. The photographer uses expired film, incorporating random effects (smudges, halos) into her images. She captures plant textures at extremely close range, creating unclassifiable images that lie somewhere between anatomical investigation and sensual reminiscence. Alongside texts by Vanessa Giudici and the artist herself, these works bring a new perspective to the familiar.
Presented last night in Paris at the Librairie 7L, a renowned bookshop founded by Karl Lagerfeld and now operated by Chanel, this launch event was an opportunity to meet photographer Inès Dieleman, alongside Vanessa Giudici, Antoine Henault, Nicolas Huet Greub, Hervé Sauvage, Anna Daki, Laurence Hovart, Garance du Nord, Alexis Armanet, Joël Traptow, Aude Schaller, and others.
