15 Years After its Creation, The Charm of Portrait of a Lady Remains Untouched
To celebrate the fifteenth anniversary of their iconic fragrance “Portrait of a Lady”, created by Dominique Ropion, Éditions de Parfum Frédéric Malle invited friends of the Maison to the opening of “Portrait of a Lady – Exposed”, a temporary exhibition presented during Couture Week.
Held at an iconic gallery in the heart of the Marais, the exhibition featured the work of David Sims, author of the new Portrait of a Lady campaign. At the crossroads of art and olfaction, this series of multiple-format photographs was topped off with a striking and deliciously irreverent portrait of Helmut Newton posing in heels for his wife June.
Frédéric Malle’s latest daring and humorous move celebrates a fragrance that makes a mockery of gender, worn and loved by women and men alike, each to adapt to their own sense of style and sex appeal.
A red-lacquered boudoir, shaped like the limited-edition flacon, plunged guests into the complex, sensual story of this code-breaking fragrance: A not-so-ladylike lady.
Closing with a spectacular performance by Jeanne Added, the evening brought together Catherine Deneuve, Noémie Lenoir, Willy Cartier, Emmanuel Perrotin, Mohammed and Humaid Hadban, Thomas Lélu, Karen Ann, Agathe Mougin and many more.
