“Silver Star” Makes its Paris Debut
On Monday, November 17th, the Max Linder Panorama theater hosted the screening of the film “Silver Star,” directed by Ruben Amar and Lola Bessis. Already presented at the Deauville American Film Festival, this crime drama follows Billie, a shy, one-eyed young African American woman who decides to rob a bank to help her parents in need. But things don’t go as planned, and when the situation escalates, she takes Fanny, an 18-year-old pregnant girl with a temper, hostage. The feature film recounts their harsh yet tender escape across the American wilderness and the reality of two young American women in their quest for a better life. This deeply moving film is scheduled for release on November 26th.
During the event, alongside the two directors, guests enjoyed a cocktail party and the screening of the film, as well as a performance by rapper Tracy De Sá and a music set by DJ Nejo. There, we met Anne Roumanoff, Michel Vuillermoz, Justine Lossa, among others.
