The Prix de Flore Celebrates its 30th Anniversary and Announces Benjamin Stock as 2024 Laureate

Numerous figures from the art and literature scenes gathered at the Café de Flore for a dinner sponsored by Roederer, during which we met Sophie Calle, Amélie Nothomb, Élisabeth Quin, Pauline Lefèvre, Valérie Trierweiler, Inès de la Fressange et Denis Olivennes, Marc Ruchmann, Vincent Darré, Ariel Wizman, Abnousse Shalmani, Anne et Claire Berest, Anne Parillaud, Eva Ionesco, Emma Becker, Simon Liberati, Mokhtar Amoudi, Marc Lambron… In between his American tour and his concerts in Europe next spring, international artist Yuri Buenaventura gave a performance with his 14 musicians, including 6 brass players, and set the Café de Flore alight, keeping all the guests dancing until late into the night!

Created in 1994 by Carole Chrétiennot and Frédéric Beigbeder, the Prix de Flore awards each year a young and daring writer who receives a check as well as a daily glass of Pouilly-Fumé wine for a year at the Café de Flore, served in a glass engraved to their name. The first edition of the Prix de Flore was sponsored by Françoise Sagan and the prize was awarded to many famous writers along the years, such as Michel Houellebecq, Guillaume Dustan, Christine Angot and Aurélien Bellanger. The jury has traditionally consisted of Frédéric Beigbeder, Jacques Braunstein, Manuel Carcassonne, Carole Chrétiennot, Michèle Fitoussi, François Reynaert, Jean-Pierre Saccani, Bertrand de Saint-Vincent, Christophe Tison, Philippe Vandel and Arnaud Viviant.

The Prix de Flore Awards Benjamin Stock for his First Novel “Marc”

The plot of “Marc”, published by Rue Fromentin, is enough to make anyone smile. As devoted Marc Levy fans are preparing a worldwide revolution, a young thirty-something start-up founder discovers the existence of this secret community and undergoes an existential crisis that shakes up his routine. Behind this biting critique of our times lies the promising talent of a sharp writer who succeeds Maria Pourchet, who won the award last year with “Western”. With “Marc”, Benjamin Stock wins the Prix de Flore by a unanimous vote, minus one voice.
