TASAKI Celebrates 70 Years of Pearls at La Samaritaine
Historically praised in Japan, pearls are now making quite a comeback thanks to the younger generation. Among the brands that have tapped into this trend, TASAKI is the one who took the lead and radically changed people’s take on these precious minerals. Thanks to its highly graphic designs, which are a radical break from what we used to see, TASAKI has emerged as the new cool brand. To celebrate its 70 years of history, TASAKI hosted a special event at its boutique at La Samaritaine last Wednesday. The evening was also the occasion for the Maison to unveil ‘FLOATING SHELL’, an exhibition in tribute to the mother of pearl, on show at La Samaritaine until January 13th, 2025. New pieces from the iconic ‘balance’ collection will also be on display, as well as innovative pieces created in collaboration with Japanese fashion brands, including a selection of trainers, sunglasses and headphones, inspired by TASAKI codes.
After attending a gracious performance by ballerina Victoria Dauberville, TASAKI CEO Tajima San delivered a moving tribute to the heritage of the Maison, which has been creating wonderful pieces since 1954.
During the evening, we met Mélanie Robert, Fleur Geffrier, Isabella Chiappini, Virginie Conte, Damien Bonnard, Charlotte Le Bon, Constance Jablonski, Lise Pierron, Nami Isackson and Germain Louvet.
