“Trees”: Maison Liaigre Exhibits Pablo Reinoso’s Hybrid Trees

Some artists aren’t afraid of stretching the limits and nature of materials. Pablo Reinoso, whose sculptures stand somewhere between design objects and architecture, is one of them. In 2006, he turned wood into a soft material with ‘Spaghetti’, a series of benches with swirling slats. He then created a series of tools -shovels, rakes and ladders – whose steel handlers melt similarly. Maison Liagre has invited the Buenos Aires artist to exhibit a selection of pieces beneath the luminous showroom, on the rue Saint-Honoré. With the exhibition “Trees”, the Franco-Argentinian artist presents us with a new vision of a tree, one made up of branches that extend further through metal prostheses. By blending natural materials with industrially produced ones, these pieces transcend the dichotomy between nature and culture. His fragile Uprooted trees are no longer in contact with the soil but rather rely on a complex structure developed by Pablo Reinoso. The programme brings a touch of Baroque to Maison Liaigre, an ambassador of minimalism.
