WEEKDAY Teams up with the Jtf X ETER Collective to Create the MEATRACK
On October 17th, street style and lifestyle brand WEEKDAY hosted a unique one-night-only event in Paris, an interactive and musical experience questioning the boundaries of intimacy. Held at the Consulat Voltaire, a former electrical substation in the 11th arrondissement, this in situ installation creates spaces of so-called ‘constructed’ intimacy. MEATRACK is a piece of furniture, but also a topography and a strange site for ‘haptic’ play.
The MEATRACK is the result of the collaboration between WEEKDAY and jtf × ĒTER, a creative collective. Consisting of a single loop of denim, the suspended structure invites people to share a common experience of touch and isolation, sheltered inside this cocoon in plain sight. Here, intimacy is a highly nuanced public affair.
The night’s programme featured performances by artists like La Grande Dame, and DJ sets by big names of Parisian nightlife such as Broodoo Ramsès, which gave a special touch to the evening. We had the pleasure of meeting James Taylor Foster, but also Alyy Space, Grace Lyell, Raya Martigny, Yann Weber, Telma Louise, Maxime Tondre, and Ruby Mazuel.
