The Nouveau Musée National de Monaco Pays Tribute to Miquel Barceló and His Work on the Sea
In honour of Miquel Barcelo’s new exhibition, the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco organised a gala dinner at the Monte-Carlo Beach Club on Wednesday, September 18th. “Miquel Barceló, Oceanographer”, is held at the Villa Paloma and revisits the prolific work of Spanish artist Miquel Barceló, who placed the sea at the heart of his art. Björn Dahlström, Guillaume de Sardes and Stéphane Vacquier carefully curated a selection of some sixty pieces (paintings, ceramics, embroideries, works on paper), which echo the history of oceanography, so dear to the Principality of Monaco.
The evening began with a concert by Nicolas Comment, accompanied by his muse Milo, and Brisa Roché. Represented by Galerie Polka, photographer and musician Nicolas Comment is a unique figure in the French rock scene. The concert preceded a gala dinner in support of the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco, to help finance its exhibition program.
