The Fondation Bettencourt Schueller Awards the Winners of the 25th Prize pour l’intelligence de la main

Every year, the Liliane Bettencourt Prize pour l’intelligence de la main honours the talent of professional craftsmen and women through three prizes focusing on strategic areas of development: the transmission of know-how, innovation, cross-disciplinarity and the promotion of local areas. The awards ceremony for this year’s edition of the prize, which celebrates its 25th anniversary, took place on Thursday 26th and rewarded the work of Nadège Mouyssinat, a porcelain maker, Catherine Romand, a basket weaver, Clémence Althabegoïty, a designer, and the Acta Vista association, which provides training in heritage restoration for people in precarious situations. The prize winners had won over an exceptional jury chaired by Laurence des Cars, President and Director of the Musée du Louvre, and composed of leading figures from the French and international design scene, who praised the laureates for their creativity, values and uniqueness.

The Prize has now honoured 131 craftsmen and designers working in a range of over 50 different fields. Through these awards, the Foundation, chaired by Françoise Bettencourt Meyers, aims to ‘give wings to talent’, thus contributing to the excellence and reputation of French craftsmanship.

‘For the past 25 years, we have been attentive to the needs of artisans and craftsmen to adapt the Prize to meet their evolving realities as closely as possible. The history of the Liliane Bettencourt Prize pour I’intelligence de la main is one of constant reinvention.’ Françoise Bettencourt Meyers, President of the Bettencourt Schueller Foundation.
