HEROES for Imagine: Art and Solidarity in Support of Research on Genetic Diseases

Created in 2015 by gallerist Kamel Mennour, the HEROES for Imagine auction is a charity event in aid of the Institut Imagine. This centre, located on the Necker Hospital campus in Paris, is a world leader in genetic disease research, care and teaching. The auction raises funds to support medical and technological advances at the Institut, which provides care for some 30,000 children with genetic diseases every year.

The fifth edition of this event took place at the Institut on Monday, September 23th, with a sale orchestrated by Christie’s during a gala dinner hosted by comedian Gad Elmaleh. Over three hundred donors turned out to take part in the auction. Around thirty lots were put up for sale, including works by renowned artists such as Daniel Buren, Philippe Parreno and Andy Warhol, as well as objects by designers such as Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec and Pierre Jeanneret.

HEROES for Imagine has raised over 32 million euros so far, used to finance strategic projects and acquire cutting-edge equipment that is essential to research and diagnosis. The funds also allow the recruitment of world leading experts to continue the fight against genetic diseases.

While HEROES for Imagine appeals to major donors, each and every one of us can support the Institut Imagine by making a donation at https://soutenir.institutimagine.org

During this exceptional evening, Florent Pagny and Juliette Armanet performed on stage before the eyes of Laetitia Casta, Thierry Ardisson, Paul-Emmanuel Reiffers, Farida Khelfa, Laeticia Hallyday, Maria Grazia Chiuri, Marc Lavoine, Redouane Bougheraba, Elie Top and many others…
