Latin American Art Fair MIRA Opens its Doors in Paris Setting a Precedent
From September 18th to 22th, the Maison de l’Amérique Latine, located in the 7th arrondissement, will host an exceptional event for art lovers, collectors, and general public to gather around their passion for the arts of Latin America and its diaspora. It’s a unique springboard for these talents often under-represented in Europe.
With 14 galleries, 2 salon shows (for a total of 24 galleries represented) and 2 programs (one for VIPs and one for the general public), this fair features Latin American artists such as Cubans Diango Hernández, Roberto Diago and Raúl Cordero, Mexicans Alex Hernández, Helen Escobedo and Gabriel de la Mora, Joaquín Torres-García (Uruguay), Antonio Pichilla (Guatemala), Samuel Sarmiento (Venezuela), Mario Picardo (Franco-Chilean), Lorenzo Vitturi (Peru – Italy), Jose Carlos Martinat (Peru), as well as Hilda Palafox (Mexico), Catalina Leon (Argentina) and Camila Rodriguez (Colombia).
Today’s challenges are also tackled and environmentally-friendly initiatives are addressed, such as the way we ship artworks and the reuse of materials. Other aspects of culture are also showcased, such as the delicious local cuisine!
On the opening night, we met Manuela Rayo, Deydri Delgado, Christian Gundin, Yohann Grandsire, Monica Bianca, Sébastien Carvalho, Alberto and Elisa de Juan, Damian Casado and Concha de Santa Pau.
