An Exceptional Gathering of 80 Painters at the Musée d’Orsay

Much more than just an exhibition, Painters’ Day allows us to dive into the heart of the contemporary artistic landscape at the hands of those who shape it. Led by artist Thomas Lévy-Lasne, the Musée d’Orsay welcomed 80 painters from the French contemporary art scene for a unique afternoon and evening on Thursday, September 19th. Each artist sat next to one of their own paintings, which were displayed among similar works from the museum’s collection, allowing discussions with the public. This was a privileged opportunity to discover not only their artistic approach, but also their view of the creative scene and art in general. Bringing together artists of all generations and styles, including Gérard Traquandi, Nathanaelle Herbelin, Cyrielle Gulacsy, Nina Childress, and Ymane Chabi Gara, the event offered an unprecedented insight into the place of painting today, while opening up new avenues for its future.
