A breath of fresh air for the 31 legendary Cabanas at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Cap D’Antibes. For the 2024 season, they have all undergone an extensive restyling by Francis Sultana, a world-renowned interior designer. Built in the 1930s, nestled among centuries-old maritime pines and overlooking the Mediterranean, these seaside cabins are one of the symbols of the legendary hotel on the French Riviera, part of the Oetker Collection. Over the decades, they have hosted celebrities, actors, and royalty from around the world, maintaining their timeless charm.
To accomplish the facelift, the designer worked closely with “Sika Design,” creating new furnishings using aluminum and bamboo furniture with summer colors, characterized by a contemporary design that pays homage to the French Riviera Style of the 1960s. At the center of each cabana is a wooden table with a ceramic top, ideal for gourmet lunches sheltered from the summer heat. The floors have also been refurbished with refined sandy-colored travertine, while the sage tones of the wooden walls blend seamlessly with the typical colors of the Riviera landscape. The transformation touched every single piece of the puzzle, including the upholstery fabrics, all exclusively created by the American maison Schumacher, which for the occasion developed curtains, decorative cushions, and deck chairs in shades of sage green and ecru.
But that’s not all. To make the entire operation truly magical and further enhance the new decor, ceramist Gérard Crociani from nearby Vallauris (a favorite place of Picasso, who lived there for several years) created a series of decorative plates in shades of blue and green, placed on the interior walls of the mythical cabanas.
