Postmodern Beauty According to Martine Rose
The British designer lands in Milan taking the Fashion Week calendar by storm. Martine Rose’s Spring Summer 2025 collection is the result of the deconstruction of all traditional aesthetic and stylistic codes, in search of a contemporary and unexpected beauty. A deliberately cacophonous remix aimed at violently distorting the Eighties sounds by Prince and the Eurythmics is the proper soundtrack to the dishevelled catwalk of ambiguous characters with exaggerated wigs and fake latex noses. These elements, deliberately excessive and fake, are used to question the conventional idea of beauty. For the same reasons, the styling of the show outfits plays with irony, almost aggressive disturbance and sex. Leather is one of the highlighted materials, used with a remarkable technique, whether it is a sculptural skirt that zips backwards, cargo shorts and, above all, kinky chaps with front zips. Among the audience in the venue, we spotted Brent Faiyaz, Jerry Lorenzo, Mia Khalifa, Nicolai Marciano and many others.
