The Remarkable Red Carpet of The Apprentice
Ali Abbasi makes his comeback in Cannes with The Apprentice, a film alluding to the reality show produced and hosted by Donald Trump himself. This movie presents the youth and growth of the former American president, played by Sebastian Strong, in the 70s and 80s, alongside Roy Cohn, brought to the screen by Jeremy Strong. A controversial lawyer without any children, Roy Cohn takes Donald under his wing and becomes his legal adviser. Nerve-wracking and almost crude, The Apprentice is a double portrait of two characters, with echoes of our own times. On the red carpet, we saw Maria Bakalova, who plays Ivana Trump, Cate Blanchett, Bella Hadid, Winnie Harlow, Bilal Hassani, and Toni Garrn.
