Paul Smith Hosts an Unprecedented Exhibition Featuring an Exclusive Selection of Works by Dale Chihuly
This exhibition marks the culmination of a long-standing friendship, that between British fashion designer Paul Smith and American glass artist Dale Chihuly. Personally curated by Paul Smith, the exhibit features a selection of 12 original Dale Chihuly’s Studio Edition glass sculptures. Each piece has been meticulously chosen to reflect Paul Smith and Dale Chihuly’s shared love of colour and the organic world.
The exhibition is also a tribute to the long-standing friendship between Chihuly, Smith and his partner, philanthropist Leslie Jackson Chihuly, President and CEO of Chihuly Studio. The trio first met at the Paul Smith boutique in Albemarle Street, Mayfair, London, where the Chihulys were shopping. Already an admirer of Chihuly’s work, Paul naturally invited him to visit his studio and office in Covent Garden. It was then that the duo discovered their shared passion for collection objects of all kinds.
At the opening, we had the pleasure of meeting Leslie Chihuly, Sarah Andelman, Xavier de Vilmorin, William Wilson Doppelganger, and Sophie Dries.
