Swatch has finally revealed the MoonSwatch line’s latest collaboration with Omega. The new model introduces a substantial innovation to the collection: a moon phase complication inspired by the famous Peanuts character, Snoopy. But why Snoopy? The comparison might seem bizarre, but it has deep roots. NASA has in fact elected the most famous beagle in the world as an emblem of excellence in missions, awarding the “Silver Snoopy Award” since 1968, a recognition to employees and partners of the space agency who stand out for merits related to the safety of human flights and to the success of the missions. Snoopy has already appeared in three different Speedmaster models over the years. The great novelty of this MoonSwatch is, as mentioned, the complication dedicated to the moon phase, which replaces the tenths of a second register of the original models. In fact, the dial sees Snoopy comfortably lying on the Moon, while the disc underneath rotates showing the different lunar phases. The totally white model is made of Bioceramic, an innovative material patented by Swatch and will be launched on March 26, 2024.
