Belmond x Galleria Continua, Daniel Buren’s Art Invades Six Hotels

“Mitico” returns, the annual artistic collaboration involving Belmond and Galleria Continua. For the first time in three years, this year’s project focuses on a single artist: Daniel Buren. Titled “Haltes Colorées,” meaning “colorful halts,” the project was inaugurated at Mount Nelson, A Belmond Hotel, in Cape Town, and will continue with projects in various Belmond locations such as Copacabana Palace, A Belmond Hotel, in Rio de Janeiro; Villa San Michele, A Belmond Hotel, in Florence; Castello di Casole, A Belmond Hotel, in Tuscany; Hotel Cipriani, A Belmond Hotel, in Venice; and La Residencia, A Belmond Hotel, in Mallorca. In total, there will be six site-specific works created by the French master, each offering the public the opportunity to reflect on each of these sublime locations by providing entirely new perspectives and viewpoints. “What unites the six ‘Haltes’ is the beauty of each location’s environment,” said Monsieur Buren. “Celebrating nature and architecture, these six highly varied in situ works offer a new perspective on Belmond’s properties, fitting into a different space each time” (copyright: © DB-ADAGP).
