Namesake Unveils an Intimate and Creative Collection
The Taiwanese brand led by the three Hsieh brothers makes a strong appearance at this year’s Men’s Fashion Week. Namesake’s collection explores the roots of their heritage and the fundamentals of Chinese culture, all coupled with their signature sportswear style.
Their looks are full of tenacity and endurance, inspired by sports stories from the world of equestrianism and basketball. Their approach is as philosophical as ever, binding the story of their collection to their adventures and arguing that happiness can only be achieved by enduring pain, just as in sports, where effort is the key to victory.
For the designers, layering is like the many lessons life has to offer. The exploration of new techniques such as crackled leather, herringbone-embossed leather, faded acetate textiles and others reflect the unknown territories we are led to cross. In a nod to earlier times, the collection also features a remake of the Lakers’ NBA championship jackets.
A sporty, aesthetic show that lays the foundations for today’s fashion. We met Saint Jhn, Trippie Redd, Charlotte Knowles, Yu Masui, Alexandra Guerain, Hera Pradel, David Bellion and many others.
