When the Gulf War broke out, the world was introduced to the Hummer H1s, operated by the US Army. Besides its impressive dimensions, the H1 just happens to look great too. Although it was indestructible, it seemed doomed to death due to its enormous V8 diesel engine, which was hopelessly incompatible with environmental policy. However, North American Electric Vehicle, one of the best retrofitting firms in the world, has set itself the goal of turning this 3.5t colossus into a fully-electric vehicle thanks to Tesla’s biggest powertrains. The results: 1,000bhp and a zero to 100 dispatched faster than a Porsche 992, and not a drop of emissions.
