Trapped in Heaven is the name of the latest collaboration between Kvadrat and the artist Danh Vo. This is a calligraphic curtain with a luxurious drape that almost looks like a sculpture. The work reports a transcription made by the father of the artist Phung Vo, who copied by hand the delicate farewell letter that the French missionary Théophane Vénard wrote to his father in 1861 while awaiting execution in a Vietnamese prison after his conviction for heresy. Design therefore merges into one with poetry and prayer. The collection designed by Danh Vo, a contemporary art star famous throughout the world for his ability to investigate time and the human perception of objects, is available in a standard white version and in three limited edition color variants. Trapped in Heaven will be available on Kvadrat Limited: a brand new platform created for the sale of limited edition fabrics made by the Danish company in partnership with great international artists. The initiative is in perfect line with the philosophy of Kvadrat, which since 1968 has been a leader in the sector of textile design and innovation and which in the last two decades has created the beauty of over eighty installations in partnership with international artists and creative institutions (photo: Greg Bannan).
