It overlooks the Lysefjord, one of the most evocative fjords in all of Scandinavia and is spread over almost 200 hectares of land. It is The Bolder, a spectacular hotel made up of four cabins designed by the architecture super studio Snøhetta in collaboration with the Danish interiors brand Vipp. The aim of the owner, Tom Bjarte Norland, was to create a place capable of blending with uncontaminated nature, dominated by expanses of pine trees and a sky that seems to never end. All of this generating a unique stay experience capable of instilling a strong sense of belonging to a larger ecosystem. The aim was largely achieved. In fact, the cabins have windows so large that they join the floor and ceiling and reveal breathtaking views of the fjord and the mountains to the lucky customers. A show within a show, made up of various lodges with clearly Nordic names (Stylten, Myra, Stjerna, Eldhuset…). All have oak interiors and concrete floors. Made of prefabricated construction, they were brought to the site thanks to powerful helicopters. The lodges are distributed over two floors: above they have a kitchen and dining area, below there is a bedroom and bathroom. In the coming years, the property will also add a lounge and a gourmet restaurant (photo: Elin Engelsvoll). By Germano D’Acquisto
